Toasted Coconut and Orange Smoothie 1

Toasted coconut is always such a powerful flavor. The nutty taste of the coconut really comes alive when it is toasted. We captured that delicious flavor in this toasted coconut orange smoothie. It is perfectly coconutty, a little citrusy and also has a slight spice.

What is in a Toasted Coconut Orange Smoothie?

We use only fresh, delicious ingredients to make our tasty smoothie. You may already have all of these ingredients at home! Here is what we add to the blender:

    • Coconut flakes- We use sweetened coconut flakes to make the smoothie nice and sweet. Unsweetened coconut flakes work perfectly too!
    • banana- Make sure your banana is nice and ripe. Freeze the banana to make the smoothie even thicker.
    • Oranges- Look for seedless oranges to make your smoothie prep easier.
    • Medjool Dates- Dates help thicken the smoothie and add a nice natural sweeteness.
    • Ground Ginger- ground ginger gives the smoothie a nice, spicy taste
    • Vanilla Extract- Vanilla adds a rich, warm flavor to the coconut milk smoothie.
    • Coconut milk- Unsweetened, refrigerated coconut milk works best.
    • Turmeric- Turmeric adds a subtle spice, a brillian red color and lots of health benefits.
    • Ice- Ice makes the smoothie cool and thick

All of the ingredients are blended together to create a thick, creamy smoothie. All you need to do is measure, blend and enjoy!

    Spicy Orange Smoothie Recipe

What makes this orange smoothie spicy? The ground ginger of course! Ground ginger has a nice kick to it, giving the smoothie a little more dimension. You can also choose to use fresh grated ginger root in place of the ground ginger. Fresh grated ginger will give your smoothie and even stronger, spicy taste.

If you want to make a coconut orange smoothie without the spice, skip the ginger and turmeric. This will make a more mild, sweet smoothie but you won't lose any of the great taste! It is still very delicious

    Healthy Orange Juice Smoothie

Our coconut orange smoothie is full of vitamins and minerals. It is the perfect drink to enjoy in the morning, giving your body just what it needs to power through the day.

Ginger is known to be very healthy. It reduces inflammation and also helps boost your immune system. Drinking ginger can also help relieve nausea and ease flu like symptoms. If you are feeling a little under the weather, this non alcoholic toasted coconut smoothie is sure to perk you up right away!

The vitamin C in orange juice gives your immune system a nice boost. Turmeric is a known antiinflammatory and coconut milk has lots of beneficial fats. All in all, this drink is tasty and nutritious!

    Delicious Morning Smoothie Recipe

We love making this smoothie for breakfast or for after a hard workout. It is a delicious treat to wake up to and the tropical taste will ensure you start your day off the right way. A little orange juice, some coconut, powerful ginger and you are ready to go! Enjoy.

    You Asked, We're Answering

We know how exciting this coconut orange smoothie is and we want to help you make it perfect. We hope that these questions and answers will enable you to make the best smoothie possible!

What kind of coconut milk is best for smoothies?

Unsweetened coconut milk works best in smoothies. Try using refrigerated coconut milk or opt for the canned version. Try not to use coconut cream which is loaded with extra sugars and fats.

Can I use coconut milk instead of almond milk in smoothies?

You definitely can! Almond milk is a great, non dairy milk to use in smoothies. It also adds a nice nutty taste to the smoothie that you will love.

    Can you blend an orange?

Oranges can be blended if you remove the peel. Also, make sure the orange does not have seeds.

Can orange be mixed with milk?

Mixing oranges and whole milk can be tricky to digest. The acid in the oranges destroys the enzymes in the milk that make it digestible. However, oranges and coconut milk are perfect together!
