What’s in the Guava Passion Fruit Drink?
Each ingredient in our guava passion fruit drink is equally important. They all add their own tropical twist and flavor that you really shouldn’t skip any of them! Here are the ingredients we use to make out guava passion fruit drink:
Pineapple Juice- Pineapple juice is sweet and tangy. It helps naturally sweeten the drink and give it a fruity taste. Use canned pineapple juice or bottled, both will work well. Buy a can of sliced pineapple, use the juice to make the syrup and then save the fruit for a drink garnish.
Fresh Ginger Root- Fresh ginger adds a warm spice to the drink. Ginger is a little peppery but can also be sweet. Peel the ginger before slicing it as the outer skin can be tough. Discard the ginger root slices after boiling the syrup or save a few for garnishes.
Honey- We love using honey as a natural drink sweetener. You can skip the honey for a less sugary drink. You can also use ½ cup white sugar in place of honey.
Guava Juice- You can find guava juice in most grocery stores in the juice aisle. If may also be near the Mexican foods. Guava juice is quite strong and can be very sweet. The bright orange color is beautiful and delicious.
Passion Fruit Juice- Find passion fruit juice right near the guava juice. Tropical juices tend to stick together!
Canned Coconut Milk- Canned coconut milk is thicker and richer than refrigerated coconut milk. It is also quite sweet (another reason you may want to skip the honey in this recipe.) One can of coconut milk is plenty to add a creamy texture to this guava passion fruit drink.
How to Make Guava Passionfruit Drink
The recipe starts by make a pineapple ginger syrup. This adds so much sweetness and flavor to the guava drink. That concentrated pineapple ginger taste just can’t be beat!
Once you have made the syrup, all you need to do is blend! We like to mix the ingredients using the blender as it fluffs the drink as well. The foamy top of the juice adds a lot of interest. It is almost smoothie like.
You can mix the ingredients in a large pitcher or bowl, whipping everything together quickly with a simple whisk. As long as the juice is blended, you are ready to sip!
