Violet Drink Recipe – Starbucks Copycat

    Violet Drink Recipe from Starbucks

The bright violet color of this tasty berry tea will make you swoon!

Have you ever seen someone walking down the street carrying a big, violet colored Starbucks drink? Maybe that person holding the drink was you. Maybe you already know how incredible this delicious purple drink is! And if you haven’t had a chance to take a sip of the famous violet drink just yet, get ready to have a new favorite drink.

    What is a Violet Drink?

Starbucks drinks are known to be fantastic. That is why the company is so popular! They make delicious, eye-catching drinks. The violet drink is a Starbuck’s summertime creation that is aptly named- it is very purple! But, what exactly is in those purple drinks? We set out to discover what goes into a violet drink and what makes is so irresistible.

    What is a Violet Drink

    Starbucks Violet Drink Ingredients

Starbucks uses just a few ingredients to make their tasty violet drink. Here are the ingredients listed for the famous violet drink:

    • Ice
    • Berry Refresher Base
    • Coconut Milk
    • Freeze Dried Blackberries

Not many ingredients for such a tasty beverage! We knew we would be able to recreate this drink on our own. Of course, we had to tweak the ingredients a little bit to make them even better.

Rather than use berry refresher base, thought it would be much better to make our own mix. Berry hibiscus refreshers are made with a syrup base that has green coffee extract, white grape juice concentrate, and added flavors. We wanted to make a more natural version of this mix that tasted even better.

Instead of green coffee extract, we use cooled hibiscus tea. Hibiscus tea is usually lightly caffeinated and has a slightly floral, fruity taste. It is perfect in the violet drink!

We skip the white grape juice and use homemade berry juice in it’s place. The berry juice is much more flavorful, healthy and tasty. It also adds a love more violet color to the delicious drink!

    How to Make Violet Drink

    How to Make Violet Drink

Making our violet drink recipe could not be easier. The first step is to brew the hibiscus tea. Any brand of hibiscus tea will do. We like to grab four tea bags and 6 cups of boiling water and let the tea steep for about 10 minutes. Chill the brewed tea in the fridge. Keep the extra tea in an airtight container for up to two weeks. It’s good to have on hand so you can quickly make a violet drink when the cravings hit.

The next step to making beautiful purple drinks is to make the purple part- the berry juice! Blend blackberries and blueberries together to create a purple puree. Strain the puree to get rid of all the seeds. You will have a deep purple juice that is tasty and healthy.

The berry juice, hibiscus tea and coconut milk are mixed together to create a gorgeous violet drink (even prettier than Starbuck’s violet drink!). We like canned coconut milk because it is thick and naturally sweet. You can use refrigerated unsweetened coconut milk or any of your favorite dairy free milks. They will all be delicious is the violet drink.

    Make Ahead Violet Drink

    Make Ahead Violet Drink

With fresh, homemade berry juice and perishable coconut milk, we have found that our violet drink recipe is best made fresh. However, we do have one little trick that will help you make it in advance.

Make the violet drink mix and then pour it into ice cube trays. Freeze the violet drink until solid. Pop the frozen cubes into a blender and puree until smooth. You have just created a fantastic violet drink smoothie! It’s a whole new way to enjoy this delicious, beautiful violet drink recipe.

Give this delicious violet drink recipe a try and let us know what you think. Walking down the street with a vibrant purple drink in your hand is a summer must-do. Enjoy!
