This chili lime pineapple soda is so flavorful that it really puts all other sodas to shame. It is so sweet, perfectly spicy and has a wonderful lime and citrus taste that you will never forget.

Chili and lime are actually a very classic combination. You can find these two ingredients together on many south American menus both in foods and in drinks.

This soda would fit right in almost any bar in Mexico, that’s for sure!

To make the soda, it does take a little bit of preparation. The chiles and peppercorns need to slowly soak into the pineapple juice, imparting their flavor in a subtle way.

Plan ahead and make the juice in advance so that you can enjoy this soda anytime the craving hits. The recipe makes enough for lots of drinks so you should have some extra!

Chile Recipe: Give your daily soda a makeover with this high powered drink.

Ingredients

• 1 Tbsp pink peppercorns, crushed

• 1 lime, juiced

• 2 dried chiles de arbol

• 4 cups pineapple juice

• ½ cup sugar

• 10 cups club soda

Directions

• Place the crushed peppercorns, lime juice, dried chilies, pineapple juice and sugar in a large, airtight container and seal. Store in the fridge for at least 12 hours or longer if possible.
• Strain the pineapple juice mix through a mesh sieve and discard the peppercorns and chiles.
• Pour ¼ cup of the pineapple juice over ice and then top with the soda. Enjoy cold.

Tips and Tricks

• • The chile pineapple juice will keep for about 2 weeks in the fridge or about 3 months in the freezer. Make it ahead of time so you always have it on hand, ready to use!
• • Use fresh jalapenos in place of the dried chiles. The delicious pepper flavor will still be there but in a whole new way.
