Easy is always good when you are in need of caffeine!

How to Make Cold Brew Coffee

How to Make Cold Brew Coffee

Our salted caramel cold brew uses pre made cold brew coffee. Cold brew coffee can be found in most grocery stores. It is usually in the refrigerated aisle of the store near the milks.

You may find cold brew concentrate which needs to be mixed with water. Regular packaged cold brew is ready to use.

make your own cold brew coffee very easily.

You can also make your own cold brew coffee very easily. All you need is some coffee grounds, a largest pitcher, a coffee filter and a strainer.

Here is exactly how you can make your own cold brew coffee to have on hand for this recipe.

    1. Mix one cup of coarsely ground coffee ground with 4 cups of filtered water. Mix the ingredients in a large pitcher or mason jar.
    2. Cover and refrigerate the cold brew mix. Let the mix sit for at least 12 hours, 24 hours if possible. The longer the coffee sits, the stronger it will be. However, you do not want it to sit for more than 24 hours or it can get very bitter.
    3. Place a coffee filter in a fine mesh strainer. Pour the coffee mix through the strainer and filter. It can take a while for the grounds to filter out but go slowly so no coffee ground get into the cold brew.
    4. Once strained, the cold brew is ready to enjoy! Store it in an airtight container in your fridge for up to two weeks.

Homemade cold brew is so simple! Now let’s talk a little about making that powerful cold brew coffee into a creamy caramel iced coffee.

    Caramel Cold Brew Cream

    Caramel Cold Brew Cream

The creamy, foam on top of the Starbucks salted caramel cold brew may be our favorite part of the whole drink. Cold foam really makes a drink super fantastic and not basic or boring.

We had to create our own cold, creamy foam to top our caramel cold brew.

Making the cold foam is pretty simple. All you need to do is mix the heavy cream, vanilla and salt together in a small mason jar. Add a teaspoon of sugar to get a sweeter foam. Place the jar in the freezer for 10 minutes to an hour. You don’t want the cream to freeze but the colder it is, the better it will froth.

Once cold, shake the jar vigorously for about a minute. The cream will start to get thick and foamy- exactly what you want! Pour that thick foam on top of your iced caramel cold bred and enjoy right away!
