Blueberry Lavender Almond Milk: floral, fruity and soothing are the three words that come to mind with just one sip of this delicious milk!

Lavender may be one of the most under used herbs in our opinion. More things should be lavender flavored! That beautiful, floral taste is unparalleled. We want to add it to everything!

Lavender also goes well with a lot of different flavor profiles. Lavender is fantastic with citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit. It is good with tart berries and stone fruits like peaches and plums. It is also great with other herbs like mint, thyme and oregano. Lavender and honey really just cannot be beat.

Lavender is so complimentary to so many foods that it is hard to know where to begin! You really just have to pick your favorite fruit, herb or food and just go with it.

One flavor combination that we really love is the mix of lavender and blueberries. The herb paired with the juicy, slightly tart berry is irresistible. That is why we chose these two ingredients to highlight in our fruity, floral almond milk recipe.

We have seen flavored almond milks hitting the shelves of many grocery stores. While chocolate almond milk and vanilla almond milk are pretty standard, companies are getting pretty creative with their milk flavors and we love it! It gives us inspiration to make our own (and we think, better) flavored milks. And blueberry lavender almond milk is where we decided to begin!

Dried lavender is the first ingredient in our recipe. You can find dried lavender in the spice aisle of most grocery stores. However, we recommend heading to a health food store or ordering food-grade lavender online where you can certainly find a better price. You are going to want to make this milk all the time so stock up on the dried lavender!

We use frozen blueberries in our recipe because you can find them year round. Fresh blueberries will work as well and give just as much fruity flavor to your almond milk. As long as the berries are a deep blue and look juicy, they will work!

We always like to use unsweetened almond milk. Our recipe has honey blended in at the end so it will be sweet enough. Honey also tastes amazing with lavender and gives the milk a wonderful, natural flavor.

Once you have steeped your lavender and blueberries in the warm almond milk and mixed in the honey and vanilla, the milk is ready to chill. Now, this part is totally personal preference- should the blueberry lavender almond milk be enjoyed hot or cold? We like both! It is a very refreshing drink when served chilled.

It even tastes great poured over your favorite cereal! However, if you want a soothing, warming drink, then warm the milk up a little bit in the microwave. Each sip will make you feel cozy and snug, perfect for a winter’s day.

Our blueberry lavender almond milk recipe is a great way to try fruity flavored milks. It will keep in the fridge for about a week so you can make a larger batch and enjoy it for a few days. We know you will love it!
