If you have never heard of a Paloma, then get ready to have a new favorite drink. The exact origin of the Paloma is a little hazy but it is believed to have been created in the 1860’s and named after a popular Mexican folk song
called “La Paloma” which means “the dove”.

No matter where the drink came from or how long people have been enjoying it, we know why it is so good.
Our delicious Paloma mocktail is even better than the alcoholic version. We skip the rum and focus on the flavors of the fresh squeezed
grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup.

One sip, and you will see why this drink has been around for decades!

What Does A Paloma Taste Like?

The Paloma is a little sweet, a little salty, sour and also a little bit bitter. It has it all! The lime juice and fresh grapefruit juice are what give the Paloma the sour, citrus taste. Grapefruit juice is also to blame for the bitter taste in the drink (but it’s bitter in a very good way!).

The agave gives it a sweetness that is unmatched. Agave is a perfect natural sweetener for mocktail recipes. You don’t have to worry if the sugar is dissolved or if the powdered sweetener is going to clump. Agave blends right into the drink!

The salt in the recipe obviously is what makes the drink salty. Don’t discount that pinch of salt though. It is definitely needed to tie the whole drink together in perfect unison.

Our Paloma mocktail has a splash of club soda to make the drink nice and fizzy. You can use sparkling water, lemon lime seltzer or even grapefruit flavored soda to add fizz to your glass. They will all work great!

Paloma’s are usually made with tequila or rum but we have created a non-alcoholic paloma version that is ideal for anyone. Essentially, if you are a grapefruit fan, you will love sipping on a big, chilled Paloma Mocktail.

So give this easy recipe a try and see why this amazing drink has been a favorite for so long!

Show your mixologist this recipe and they can likely whip one up for you!
