  1. Remove the fruit from the water after 24 hours and discard. Letting the fruit sit too long can make the water bitter. This is especially true with citrus fruits<\/a> as the pith of the fruit has a strong, bitter taste that will permeate into the water.<\/li>
  2. Use fruits that are ripe and sweet. The flavor of the fruit will go directly into the water so the sweeter the fruit, the naturally sweeter the water will be!<\/li>
  3. Be sure to wash your fruit. Even though you won\u2019t be eating the fruit itself, you will be drinking the water it soaks in. You want to have clean fruit and clean water!<\/li>
  4. Let the water sit at room temperature for about an hour before moving it to the fridge. The fruit will add more flavor to the water when it is warm.<\/li>
  5. After your water is infused, use the leftover fruit to make smoothies. It will still have a great flavor!<\/li>
