How To Make a Strawberry Mocktail with Basil
The first step toward making a perfect strawberry mocktail with basil is to make a strawberry basil syrup. Water, honey and sugar are brought to a boil. Fresh sliced strawberries are added to the hot syrup and boiled until the berries are soft.
The strawberry syrup pot is removed from the stove top and the fresh chopped basil is added in. Once the syrup is cooled and at room temperature, strain it well. Be sure to press down on the berry, basil mash to really get all the juice out. You’d be amazed how much tasty liquid comes pouring out of the berries!
We like to use a big gallon jug for the next step of the recipe but a nice, large pitcher or even a punch bowl will work as well. Add the strained strawberry basil syrup into the pitcher or jug and add the remaining water, lemon juice, and lime juice. Put the top on the jug and shake or just stir the pitcher. We must say, the shaking part is extra fun and worth looking for a gallon sized jug with a lid!

How Long Does Fresh Basil Strawberry Lemonade Last?
Once you have made your beautiful strawberry basil mocktail mix, store it in the fridge for up to a week. After a week, the mocktail mix may start to turn brownish as the strawberries and basil age. But don’t worry, you will probably drink it all before then! Remember, you can have as many mocktails as you want with no alcoholic side effects.
Serve our strawberry basil mocktail over ice in a highball glass. Garnish it with a pretty lemon slice and sprig of fresh basil. You can also pour your strawberry mocktail into a martini glass for an even fancier look.
Everyone from adults to kids can enjoy this tasty strawberry basil mocktail. It will be a winner with everyone, we guarantee it. Enjoy!
