We tried to encapsulate that delicious, summery taste in this peaches and cream smoothie recipe. It is perfectly sweet, slightly tangy and oh so delicious. Our peaches and cream smoothie gets the “cream” part from Greek yogurt. We opted for Greek yogurt for a few reasons. First, Greek yogurt is much thicker than regular yogurt so it gives the smoothie a more dense texture. Second, Greek yogurt is very healthy. It is naturally full of protein, vitamin B12 and also probiotics. If you are looking to add more calcium to your diet, yogurt can help with that too! It is a wonderful ingredient to blend into a smoothie and really makes this drink nice and creamy.
You can probably find pre sliced, frozen peaches in the grocery store any time of year. However, if you really want to make this smoothie special, peel, slice and freeze your own peaches when they are at peak ripeness. Doing this will give you the best, most flavorful peaches and make your smoothie a whole lot better. One sip and you’ll be happy that you took the time to peel those peaches!
