Refreshing and sweet, this orange and cherry shirley temple drink is one you will crave!
The Shirley temple is a classic, non-alcoholic drink that has been loved by kids for decades. It is traditionally made with gingerale, grenadine syrup and garnished with a cherry. The fizzy bubbles are fun to drink and the cherry flavor is sweet and delicious. While the drink contains no alcohol, it looks as fancy as any mixed drink out there!
“fizzy bubbles are fun to drink”
The Shirley temple originated in the 1930’s when a bartender in California made the drink for the famous child actress, Shirley Temple. It is said that he was trying to mix up something fancy enough for a famous movie star, but simple enough for a kid (seeing as Shirley Temple was quite young at the time). The drink became and instant hit and is still a go-to at restaurants for any young children.
Our orange creamsicle Shirley temple drink is a twist on that classic drink. We add the creamy, sweet flavors of orange and cream soda to the mix. Oranges and cherry do go well together! It also makes for a very pretty drink. The bright red grenadine swirls into the orange soda to make a drink that almost looks like a sunset. Be sure to layer the sodas into the glass for the full, swirly effect!
