Moroccan Mint Melon Tea 4 — Moroccan Mint Melon Tea

The whole drink starts by brewing a green mint tea. While you can buy mint tea bags and use those for this recipe, we like to use fresh mint as it gives a whole new, incredible flavor.

Fresh mint is very potent and will liven up your green tea in an amazing way. You can use either peppermint or spearmint leaves in this recipe, both will lend their delicious flavor to the tea.

The second part of this drink is the melon slushy. Ripe, honeydew melon is blended into a thick puree. If you’d like a smoother drink, strain the blended melon into a large bowl before adding the tea. This will give you a clearer, silkier drink that is more like a juice than a slushy.

If you don’t mind a little texture, skip the straining and just add the tea into the blender along with the ice. Puree all the ingredients together and hen serve. This drink will excite and refresh you on any hot summer day!

A perfect summer tea slushy in a glass!

Ingredients

2 cups water
12 fresh mint leaves
4 green tea bags
⅓ cup honey
3 cups diced honeydew melon
1 ½ cups ice

Directions

In a large sauce pan, bring the water to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags and mint leaved. Cover the pot and let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
Strain the tea into a pitcher and discard the tea bags and mint leaves. Let the brewed tea cool.
Blend the honeydew until smooth.
Add the ice and brewed tea and blend again, making a smooth slushy.
Pour into glasses and enjoy.

Tips and Tricks

• Add a splash of ginger ale into the glass to give the drink a little extra fizz.
• Freeze the chopped honeydew before blending. You can use less ice and make a more potent drink this way.
