    However, we have a little secret. You can make the very berry hibiscus Starbucks drink right at home.

    What is a Refresher?

    Starbucks is the original creator of the refresher drink. A Starbucks refresher is a hand shaken iced drink that is made with fruit and green coffee extract. People like refreshers because they are lightly caffeinated and super fruity.

    They will quench your thirst and give you just a little caffeine to get you through the day.

    • White Grape Juice- White grape juice adds body and syrupy sweetness to the refresher.

    • Seltzer- Seltzer gives the refresher a bubbly effervescence that is refreshing and delicious.

    There are a few steps to make a very berry hibiscus refresher. First, you need to make the hibiscus simple syrup. Then, you need to mash the berries and mix all of the ingredients together. There may be a few steps but they are not hard! Here is a quick look at how to make a very berry hibiscus refresher.

    1. Boil half of the water, sugar and hibiscus flowers until the sugar is dissolved.
    2. Cover the pot and steep the syrup with the flowers.
    3. Pour the syrup through a cheesecloth to remove the flowers. Discard the dried hibiscus flowers and save the syrup.
    4. Smash the berries with a muddler then add the syrup, grape juice, remaining water and coffee bean powder. Mix well.
    5. Add the seltzer, mix slightly and then enjoy the refresher over ice!

    Make the hibiscus syrup in advance so you have one step of the recipe checked off. You can make the whole refresher mix ahead of time, just add the seltzer right before you are ready to enjoy the drink.

    You want the carbonation in the seltzer to be as fresh as possible!

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups water

    • 1 cup sugar

    • ½ cup dried hibiscus flower

    • ¼ cup blackberries

    • ¼ cup raspberries

    • 1 cup white grape juice

    • ½ tsp green coffee bean powder

    • 1 cup seltzer

    Directions

    • Start by making hibiscus syrup. Combine one cup of water, the hibiscus flowers and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar is melted.
    • Remove the pot from the heat, cover and let the syrup steep for about 10 minutes. This will let the flavor of the hibiscus flowers soak into the syrup.
    • Pour the syrup through a cheesecloth, straining the flowers from the syrup and discarding them.
    • Place the blackberries and raspberries in a pitcher and smash them with a muddler.
    • Pour the hibiscus syrup into the pitcher with the smashed berries.
    • Add the grape juice, remaining water and green coffee bean powder. Stir to dissolve the coffee powder.
    • Add the seltzer and stir briefly to mix in the seltzer but not ruin the bubbles.
