    First, we chose a few citruses to mix into our detox water. Citrus fruits have a lot of health benefits. Lemons and limes both help with digestion. They can even relieve bloating. All citrus fruits contain lots of vitamin C which helps boost immunity. Oranges also have carotenoids and flavonoids which help eliminate toxins in the body.

    Not only does citrus fruit pack some serious nutritional advantages, it also tastes great. There is a reason why restaurant serve lemons in water- its delicious! A mix of citrus in a cold glass of water is quite refreshing.

    The next powerful detox ingredient on our list is ginger. Ginger soothes the belly. It can calm an upset stomach in a matter of minutes. Ginger is also a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

    You may have been familiar with these well known benefits of ginger, but did you also know that ginger can help burn fat by boosting your metabolism? Sounds like the perfect ingredient for a detox drink!

    We add mint to our detox water to brighten the flavor even more. Mint also stimulates digestion and can help clean out your system. Cucumber slices add the perfect finishing touch. They contain vitamins A, C and B which are all known to flush out toxins. The electrolytes in cucumbers will also help keep you hydrated.

    Ingredients

    • 1 orange

    • 1 lemon

    • 1 lime

    • 1 cucumber

    • 1 inch fresh ginger root

    • 1 cup fresh packed mint leaves

    • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

    Directions

    • Slice the orange, lemon, lime and cucumber and add them all to a large pitcher.
    • Slice the ginger root into thin pieces and place them in the pitcher. You can leave the peel on.
    • Add the mint to the pitcher along with the cayenne pepper.
    • Pour the water into the pitcher and stir all the ingredients together well.
    • Place the pitcher in the fridge and let chill overnight.
    • Pour 2 cups of detox water over ice and enjoy.

    Tips and Tricks

    • • You can switch up the citrus fruit if you’d like. Use a grapefruit in place of orange or double the quantity of lemons instead of using a lime. Each variation will give your drink a unique flavor.
    • • Skip the cayenne if you do not want a subtle heat in your detox water.
