Incredible blue color of this drink will immediately impress..

What makes a blue mocktail blue?
The secret blue ingredient we use is called blue curacao syrup. Curacao is a liqueur made from the dried peel of the laraha citrus fruit. It is mainly grown on the island of Curacao in the Caribbean sea.
Of course, we don’t want to use a liqueur to make our mocktail so we opted for blue curacao syrup. It is even tastier than its alcoholic counterpart and just as blue!

What is blue curacao syrup?
Blue curacao syrup is made with sugar, water and natural citrus flavors. It evokes the flavors of blue curacao liqueur but without the alcohol.
Where can I get blue curacao syrup?
There are quite a few companies that make blue curacao syrup. Torani and Monin are the most popular brands. Both companies make a delicious syrup that will taste great in your blue mocktail.
You can order both syrups online or look in your local liquor store. Some grocery stores may even carry blue curacao syrup.
While you can make your own blue curacao syrup recipe, you would have to get your hands on some lahara fruit. While we love homemade syrups, it may be easier just to buy it!
How do you pronounce curacao?
This is a great question! You need to be able to tell your family and friends how you made this delicious citrus blue mocktail and that requires naming the ingredients correctly! Curacao I pronounced “cure-ah-SEW”. Practice it a few times out loud and we know you’ll get it.

Do I need to add ice to the blue mocktail?
Our blue mocktail recipe is definitely best when cold. However, if your syrup and seltzer are cold, the drink should be chilled enough to not require ice.
You can also choose to add the syrup and juices to a cocktail shaker of ice, give them a good shake, then pour the chilled liquid into a highball glass and top with the seltzer.
Cold is definitely best but a glass full of ice is not necessary.

Can I make a blue mocktail in advance?
You can mix the blue curacao syrup, orange juice and lemon juice together in advance. Add the seltzer at the last minute so it doesn’t lose it’s fizz.
I bet you are now ready to make this delicious, gorgeous mocktail. The bright citrus flavors match the bright blue color! Give it a try and let us know what you think. Enjoy.
I'm highly impressed
These were so refreshing. We served them for a Friday night cheese board party and everyone loved them. Thank you for a great recipe!
I made this mocktail the other day and it was so refreshing and delicious. This drink recipe is flawless.
Can the curacao syrup be replaced with lemon syrup? I know the color won't be blue, but does it have a specific taste, or pretty similar to lemon?
I added the extra lime you an it was delicious!
